Raeburn Training was established to address local training gaps, ensuring individuals and businesses have access to high quality, tailored courses. With hands-on experience in training needs analysis and delivery, we are committed to excellence in both course quality and customer service.

Courses
We offer a comprehensive range of over 300 accredited courses through in-house instructors and trusted partners, serving industries such as construction, manufacturing, marine, oil and gas, warehousing, utilities and hospitality. Core certifications include CITB, SQA, REHIS and NPORS, alongside popular industry accreditations such as IOSH, CPCS, AITT, IPAF, City & Guilds, PASMA, RYA, STCW, OPITO and GWO.

Academy
Our bespoke Training Academies support individuals entering key industries through short vocational courses, combining industry-recognised certifications with practical training. We work with employers, recruitment programmes and third sector partners to deliver skills-based pathways tailored to industry needs.

Services
Beyond training, we assist businesses with training plan management, funding guidance and health and safety consultancy services. Services include CITB funding support, Business Gateway referrals and specialist health and safety consultancy, including Display Screen Equipment assessments.

Delivering across Scotland and the UK, Raeburn Training offers flexible and responsive training solutions to meet evolving industry needs.

Sarah Raeburn

Owner/Director

Having worked in the financial services industry for 10 years then working within the family construction business for over 10 years, Sarah created Raeburn Training in 2019 and is continuing her career as a H&S consultant and trainer.

Sarah loves a hobby and in her spare time enjoys running, paddle-boarding and pottery.

Jen Hancock

Jen Hancock

Operations Manager

Jen is our Operations Manager and brings over 17 years of experience in Health & Safety and Learning & Development to the team. She oversees the operational delivery of training, including developing courses, managing instructors, maintaining quality standards, and identifying new opportunities to grow our client base.

Jen is very busy with her daughter and enjoys cocktails and afternoon teas.

Sarah Huxter

Sarah Huxter

Business Lead

Sarah is our Business Lead and is responsible for delivering the full client experience across our TPM clients, including Briggs Marine. She works closely with the Business Support team and Office team to ensure training delivery, communication, and client support run smoothly.

Sarah spends her free time with her husband and two young children, and the family's pets.

Derek Hood

Derek Hood

Business Co-ordinator

Derek is our Business Coordinator and brings over 21 years of experience in Learning and Development to Raeburn Training. He supports the delivery of our academies and Health & Safety consultancy services, while also providing support across IT systems, compliance, accreditation, and course standards.

Derek is a Competitive Archer competing in Local, British and European Championships, and now supports his club in a coaching role.

Ewa Smierzynska

Ewa Smierzynska

Finance Officer

Ewa is our Financial Officer and supports the finance function across the business. She manages key processes including accounting, payroll, expenses, and sales and purchase ledgers, while also assisting with management reporting and supporting general office compliance.

Ewa divides her spare time between exploring Scotland and spending time with her family and friends.

Business Support Administrator

Freya is our Business Support Administrator, providing essential administrative support across all areas of the business. She assists with sales and marketing activities, client reporting for TPM, and helps coordinate our associate network to ensure everything runs efficiently.

Freya enjoys playing netball, practising her cookery skills and looking after the family dog, Oscar.

 

Rebecca Wilkie

Rebecca Wilkie

Office Coordinator

Rebecca is our Office Coordinator and plays a key role in supporting the delivery of our training courses. She oversees essential administration such as attendance, certification, and training materials, while also ensuring the smooth running of our Internet Test Centre and CSCS testing.

Rebecca loves to spend time with her husband and young child, and the family's pets.

Apprentice Administrator

Nicole is our Apprentice Administrator and provides essential support to help the business run smoothly. She assists with tasks such as data entry, preparing training materials and certification, and general administration, while working towards her apprenticeship qualification.

Nicole enjoys going on walks and spending time with family and friends.

Graduate

Calum supports the business across marketing, sales, and administration, helping ensure the smooth coordination of training and client services. His role includes managing social media and website updates, supporting enquiries and bookings, maintaining training records, and assisting with client and course coordination.

Graduate

Erin joined Raeburn Training in a graduate role and supports a wide range of areas across the business. Her responsibilities span from finance and administration to social media management and operational support.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys travelling, going on walks, and spending time with her dog.

Our accreditations

CITB

SSP
The Site Safety Plus (SSP) suite of courses provides the building, civil engineering and allied industries with a range of courses for people seeking to develop skills in this area.

Site Safety Plus (SSP) courses are designed to give everyone, from operative to senior manager, the skills they need to progress through the industry.

Courses range from the one-day Health and Safety Awareness course to the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme. There are also refresher courses to make sure that workers are keeping up with the latest practices and techniques to be safe on the job.

ITC
An Internet Test Centre (ITC) is a centre approved by CITB to provide testing facilities for tests such as the Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test.

Dedicated Internet Test Centres (ITC) facilitate candidates at allocated time slots, ITC’s follow stringent guidelines that ensures candidates sit their exams under the required conditions.

 

NPORS

Established in 1992, NPORS is one of the UK’s leading accreditation and registration bodies, NPORS is one of the UK’s leading accreditation and registration bodies, working across numerous sectors.

NPORS firmly believes that all Instructors play an integral role in training and the testing process to ensure trainees safely operate plant machinery or equipment. Instructors registered with NPORS will have completed an instructional techniques course, to ensure they are both technically competent and understand a range of teaching methods.

SQA

The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is the national awarding body in Scotland responsible for developing, accrediting, and awarding a wide range of qualifications. SQA qualifications are recognised both nationally and internationally, supporting learners across education, training, and professional development.

REHIS

The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, often referred to as REHIS, was established in 1983 following the merger of the Royal Sanitary Association of Scotland (founded 1875) and the Scottish Institute of Environmental Health (founded 1973). The Institute was incorporated by Royal Charter in 2001.

REHIS aims to promote the advancement of Environmental Health for the benefit of all sectors of the community, providing effective education and training and implement improvements which can have a positive impact on public health or safety.
