Abrasive Wheels Awareness with Practical

Course Aim

The purpose of the Abrasive Wheels Practical training is to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills in safe preparation and use of portable abrasive wheel cutters. 

 

 

Course Content

The course covers portable grinders, angle grinders, disc cutters and bench mounted grinding machines and shall cover: 

  • Legislation & responsibilities 
  • Types of abrasive wheels 
  • Storing and transporting 
  • Pre-start inspections 
  • Procedure for dealing with defective equipment 
  • Dust suppression systems 
  • Operating machines 
  • Post operational checks 
Where to attend

Courses are held at our training centre in Kirkcaldy, delivered by our team of instructors.

This course can also be delivered at your location, or at a location close to you for groups of 4+ candidates.

Assessment

Candidates will be required to contribute and engage throughout the course, with the instructor continually observing each candidate to monitor their learning and understanding.

Customers can opt to have a certificate of attendance or a certificate of achievement.  If opting for achievement, candidates will be required to pass a short multiple choice question paper at the end of the course as well as participating in a practical demonstration.
