At Raeburn Training, we regularly work with people from a wide range of industries, particularly construction and trade sectors. Alongside developing skills and qualifications, we recognise that wellbeing and mental health are just as important as workplace competence.
As part of our charity spotlight series, we want to highlight organisations that are making a real difference to people’s lives. One charity we are proud to support is Andy's Man Club, a UK-based suicide prevention charity working to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
Andy’s Man Club was founded in 2016 following the tragic loss of Andrew Roberts to suicide. His family wanted to create a safe environment where men could talk openly about their mental health without fear of judgement.
What started as a single support group has since grown into a nationwide charity, with hundreds of groups running across the UK.
The organisation’s message is simple but powerful:
“It’s OK to talk.”

Andy’s Man Club provides free, peer-to-peer support groups for men, offering a safe and confidential environment where individuals can share how they are feeling.
These sessions allow men to speak openly about challenges they may be facing, whether related to work, relationships, mental health, or everyday life.
The groups are designed to provide support, understanding, and connection, helping men realise they are not alone in what they are experiencing.
Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of profession or background. However, many men still find it difficult to speak openly about how they are feeling.
Statistics consistently show that men are less likely to seek help for mental health concerns, yet they are more likely to die by suicide. This highlights the importance of organisations that provide accessible, supportive spaces for men to talk.
Charities like Andy’s Man Club are helping to change the conversation around men’s mental health and encourage people to seek support when they need it.
At Raeburn Training, we work with many individuals entering or already working within the construction and trade industries.
These sectors are traditionally male-dominated, and many of the people we train visit our centre daily as they complete qualifications, safety training, and job readiness programmes.
Because of this, we believe it is important that we use our platform to raise awareness of organisations that provide support for men’s mental health.
By highlighting Andy’s Man Club and making information available within our centre, we hope to encourage open conversations and ensure people know that support is available if they need it.

Andy’s Man Club meetings are designed to be simple, welcoming, and supportive.
The groups are:
There is no pressure to speak. Some men attend to talk, while others simply listen and benefit from hearing the experiences of others.
