Course Aim

COSHH courses are specially designed to give people the knowledge and understanding of how to work safely with hazardous substances.

Course Content

By the end of the course learners will have an understanding of: 

  • Why hazardous substances are an issue and examples of incidents involving hazardous substances along with their consequences
  • The forms that hazardous substances can take
  • The four ways that hazardous substances can enter the body in order to cause harm
  • The harmful effects that hazardous substances can have
  • Acute and chronic effects that hazardous substances can cause
  • Identifying hazardous substances
  • The key legal requirements under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
  • COSHH risk assessments, including the means of control
Where to attend

Courses are held at our training centre in Kirkcaldy, delivered by our team of instructors.

This course can also be delivered at your location, or at a location close to you for groups of 4+ candidates.

Assessment

Learners will complete a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course.
