Course Aim

This course aims to ensure candidates understand their responsibility for site safety, spill control and environmental protection. Spill responders are vital for ensuring your site, and the environment, are protected from pollution incidents and the effectiveness of your sites spill prevention strategy and response plan is greatly influenced by staff training.

 

 

Course Content

By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of: 

  • The importance of understanding the nature of workplace substances,
  • Various types and forms of primary and secondary containment,
  • Standard procedures for fuelling and substance transfer,
  • The principles of emergency containment
  • British standard sorbents and the correct spill kits for specific purposes,
  • Deployment and disposal of emergency spill kits
