Course Content
By the end of the course learners will have an understanding of:
- Why hazardous substances are an issue and examples of incidents involving hazardous substances along with their consequences
- The forms that hazardous substances can take
- The four ways that hazardous substances can enter the body in order to cause harm
- The harmful effects that hazardous substances can have
- Acute and chronic effects that hazardous substances can cause
- Identifying hazardous substances
- The key legal requirements under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
- COSHH risk assessments, including the means of control
Who should attend
This course is suitable for all levels of employees who work, or may come into contact with, hazardous substances in the workplace.
How to prepare
There are no candidate pre-requisites for this course.

½ day classroom
Assessment
Learners will complete a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course.
Price
Group/closed courses £300 +VAT, plus £10 per person certificate fee.
Validity
While there is no requirement to re-certify, it is recommended annual COSHH risk assessments are completed.
