Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide learners with improved and refreshed knowledge and understanding on responsibilities and accountability for site safety.

This course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.

The course will cover:

The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
Risk assessment and method statements
Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
Behavioural safety
Occupational health
Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction

Training is delivered in a classroom environment, with group interaction throughout.

Who should attend

This course is for project managers, site managers and supervisors, business owners and clients who already hold a valid SMSTS certificate.

Duration

2 days.

Assessment

Assessment will be by an end of course exam paper, the completion of four core exercises and a trainer review, for which the learner will need to gain a PASS in all elements of the review.

The exam consists of 35 questions and learners must achieve a pass rate of 80%.

£290 +VAT per person.

Closed course bookings from £255 +VAT per person, for a minimum of 6 leaners.

Validity

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.
